Chopper Twirls Out of Control into Palm Groves at Popular Southern California Coast

An aircraft hovering near a crowded southern California beach suddenly began spiraling wildly, eventually dropping height and plunging into a line of palm fronds as onlookers looked on.

Footage posted on social media show the chopper beginning to twirl near Huntington Beach then plunging towards the edge of the shore, where it gets stuck amidst palms and a set of stairs near the shoreline route.

Emergency Response Information

The Huntington Beach fire department stated five individuals were rushed to the hospital involving two who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the crash on the weekend.

Three people on the street were hurt. Specifics on their condition were not yet released.

What led to the incident was still under investigation.
